Lake Center Christian School has an opening for Senior High Technology Teacher (grades 9 – 12) for the 2023-2024 school year.

Courses Taught Include:  

Technology & Worldview:  This course will introduce students to the fields of technology and computer science through an exploration of engaging and accessible topics preparing all our students for success in any field or career. The course will focus on societal and ethical issues surrounding technology and the responsibility to use, create, and review technology in a way that gives glory to our Lord. In this project-based course, the students will design, develop and create projects that showcase their growing knowledge of technological applications and computer science skills.

Technology 1:  Working in design teams and using professional practices, students will apply a systematic design process for researching, designing, building, and assessing solutions to solve various project-based technological challenges. Students will complete a project related to these challenges based upon his/her individual interests throughout the semester. As Christians in our everyday world, students will develop an awareness of environmental and societal issues related to technological design

Technology 2:  This project-based course will explore how the application of technological advances to transform resources into usable products and services, related to challenges in the real world. As Christians, students will address the use and ramifications of technology used in daily life, exploring areas such as security, sports, music, geography, and medical applications. Students will complete a project based upon his/her individual interests and related to a real-world problem.

Lake Center Christian School has an opening for Senior High Digital Photography Teacher (Part-Time) for the 2023-2024 school year.

Courses Taught Include:  

Digital Photography 1:  Digital Photography is designed to introduce the amateur photographer to the fundamentals of photography.  Students will learn about properly using a digital camera, tips for taking better photos and information for editing their photos. Students will need a digital camera that is at least 4 megapixel with manual settings (shutter speed, aperture, ISO). No phone cameras. 

Digital Photography 2:  Digital Photography II is an opportunity for students to refine and expand the skills they initially learned in Digital Photography I with an emphasis on a more personal approach to their work.  Students will develop a body of work through open-ended assignments that encourage them to develop their own style and aesthetic while challenging them both technically and compositionally. Students will create a photographic journal detailing their progress as a photographer and a professional portfolio exhibiting their best work.   2. Greet and assist all incoming guests, parents, and visitors

  5. Remain at desk throughout the day in order to monitor cameras, meet students, faculty, administration, and parent needs.
  6. Assist with beginning of the year needs starting two weeks before students return.
  7. Assist elementary administration with assigned tasks
  8. Keep receptionist area neat and inviting
  9. Keep requested hours on a consistent basis (7:30-3:00 with a half hour lunch).

RESPONSIBLE TO:  Superintendent

Supervises: Educational technology integration, Assistant to the Director of Educational Technology, network administrators, specialists and assistants who will aid with the implementation and support of school technology.

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with instructional staff to support their use of and integration of technology (hardware, software and internet resources) in curriculum development and implementation, planning, and assessment.
  2. Meet regularly with administration, grade level teams and subject area departments to assess areas of success and need for teachers and students regarding the use of technology to improve student learning. 
  3. Suggest and demonstrate new ways of integrating technology into the classroom while utilizing best practices.
  4. Conduct professional development workshops in conjunction with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and building principals.
  5. Research and follow trends in the development of educational uses of technology communicating the same to faculty and administration.
  6. Assist in the development of policies involving technology.
  7. Write and implement school-wide technology plans – including e-rate and plans with outside vendors if used.
  8. Evaluate the ongoing effectiveness of the technology programs within the school, specifically the 1:1 program.
  9. Recommend technology courses/scope and sequence that enhance and support the school technology program.  
  10. Work alongside elementary and high school representatives to ensure the scope and sequence from K-12 is complete, comprehensive, and meets school standards.
  11. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, students, and media/technology staff to evaluate, to select, and to recommend and expedite the purchase of technology resources including hardware, software, and internet resources that support the standards, goals and curricular needs of the school.
  12. Coordinate with the grade level teams and the principals the introduction of laptops with special attention to addressing the following areas:  management policies, student program knowledge, care and maintenance of laptop, user agreements, proper use of Internet, and other items of importance.
  13. Assist in facilitation, organization and execution of the procedures for reporting and recording damage, malfunction, and repair of 1:1 laptops and other technology equipment as needed.
  14. Collaborate and facilitate good working relationships with school-wide educational technology staff and designated personnel in order to further program development, improve organization, and ensure smooth operations with regard to both software and hardware elements.
  15. Develop and monitor the educational technology budget.
  16. Serve as technical contact and resident subject matter expert (SME) for the school’s learning management system and student information system
