Lake Center Christian School has an immediate need for Registered Nurse Substitutes.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Licensed RN or LPN
  2. First Aid/CPR instructor license
  3. Love of children and an understanding of basic pedagogical principles.
  4. A clear testimony of being a Christian and active in a local church that supports Lake Center Christian School’s Statement of Faith.
  5. Ability to sign and agree with the school’s Statement of Faith and Community Lifestyle Agreement.

Performance Expectations:

  1. Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness
  2. Provide emergency aid to students and school staff
  3. Support health plans for students with chronic illnesses or diabetes (allergies, diabetes,)
  4. Keep track of students vaccination records
  5. Ensure compliance with national and local health laws
  6. Make updates to students medical history
  7. Follow school policies and procedures
  8. Promote an awareness of and assists in the control of communicable diseases
  9. Serve as a resource person to staff members in health instruction
  10. Coordinate vision and hearing screenings and health assessments
  11. Be active in recommending needed updates of policies and formulation of new policies that are in the best interests of school and individual health care. 
  12. Keep students, parents, and the administration adequately informed of all health related issues in the school setting.
  13. Distribute Emergency Medical Forms and appropriate medications to be taken with students leaving school for field trips.
  14. Administer all student medications.  Maintain regular and accurate records of student visits to the Clinic and medication administered.

Lake Center Christian School is seeking a Team Teacher – Junior High for the 2024-2025 school year. This position is an exempt contract position offered at 65% FTE. Schedule is 8:00am – 2:00pm, 4 days a week.

Base Salary:  $20,475 (actual amount determined by years of experience)

Objective: Collaborate with faculty and other team members to achieve both whole class and individual learning goals.

Qualifications: 

  1.  Bachelor’s degree with current Ohio Teaching license
  2. Two year’s teaching experience, preferred
  3. A member of or association with an evangelical Christian congregation and regular attendance including active support where affiliation is held.
  4. A good moral reputation and strong family relationships.

Performance Expectations:

Team Teacher shall…

  1. Meet regularly with team members to identify students who need academic, behavioral, or executive function support or enrichment.
  2. Collaborate with faculty in planning and implementing classroom lessons as well as intervention (additional instruction) for students in targeted areas through the RtI process.
  3. Work with team members to keep accurate and relevant data regarding RtI goals including progress monitoring.
  4. Communicate with faculty and parents regarding student progress through meetings and/or student summaries.
  5. Plan and deliver instruction with faculty team members in order to facilitate co-teaching and differentiated instruction.
  6. Consult with Intervention Specialists (including gifted) to promote student learning in the classroom environment.
  7. Give data regarding student learning related to a student’s IEP to the Intervention Specialist. 
  8. Submit Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP) and follow LPDC requirements.
  9. Participate in PLCs and attend faculty meetings.
  10. Follow school’s procedures and policies.
  11. Follow all confidentiality laws and requirements. 
  12. Coordinate with principal for exact schedule.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. A personal testimony of the saving grace and power of the Lord Jesus Christ
  2. Bachelor degree from four-year college or university
  3. Certification or licensure by the State of Ohio for the position or eligibility for such credentials.
  4. All faculty members are required to have an ACSI certificate after their first year of employment. 
  5. Testimony to an experience of salvation and a growing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Be able to define and explain a Biblical worldview. 
  6. Adequate background of Bible knowledge and the ability to impart biblical truth to students.

Performance Expectations:

  1. Effectively manage the classroom and individual student behavior to maintain a positive learning environment
  2. Maintain accurate and complete IEP records.
    1. Coordinate collection as well as interpret data provided by the Educational Team.
    2. Complete Jon Peterson Scholarship Program paperwork to meet deadlines. 
  3. Provide guidance to parents, teachers and students to promote educational development of students with disabilities.
  4. Attend parent/teacher conferences as needed.
  5. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with parents through effective use of interim reports, report cards and conferences.
  6. Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter, particularly Math and ELA skills, and present clear explanations utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and media suitable to the level of learners.
  7. Understand and follow the “Response to Intervention” (RtI) process for student success.
  8. Provide appropriate intervention for qualifying students
  9. Communicate and work closely with the general education teacher while developing each student’s intervention program
  10. Work collaboratively with the educational team to provide appropriate accommodations and modifications to the general education curriculum.
  11. Draft a schedule taking into consideration the least restrictive environment.
  12. Assist the Director of Special Services with the preparation of Professional Development for faculty and staff. 
  13. Participate in professional development meetings assigned committee work, staff meetings, extra-curricular activities and other professional responsibilities as assigned.
  14. Attend faculty devotions, chapel services, and required faculty meetings according to weekly schedule.
  15. Follow procedures and policies in the Employee Handbook.
  16. Follow all confidentiality laws and requirements. 
  17. Submit Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP) and follow LPDC requirements.
  18. Arrive sufficiently before the students to be prepared for his/her responsibilities – specific times outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  19. Participate in professional development meetings assigned committee work, staff meetings, extra-curricular activities and other professional responsibilities as assigned.
  20. Fulfill other reasonable duties as assigned by the school administration without expectation of additional compensation.

Job Details:

  • Transport children and other passengers to and from field trip and athletic destinations
  • Obey all traffic laws
  • Maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus at all times
  • Ensure the safety of all students
  • Assist students with getting on and off the bus as needed
  • Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route
  • Attend safety meetings as required
