Lake Center Christian School has an immediate need for Registered Nurse Substitutes.
Required Qualifications:
- Licensed RN or LPN
- First Aid/CPR instructor license
- Love of children and an understanding of basic pedagogical principles.
- A clear testimony of being a Christian and active in a local church that supports Lake Center Christian School’s Statement of Faith.
- Ability to sign and agree with the school’s Statement of Faith and Community Lifestyle Agreement.
- A good moral reputation and strong family relationships.
- Ability to relate to and to work well with others.
Performance Expectations:
- Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness
- Provide emergency aid to students and school staff
- Support health plans for students with chronic illnesses or diabetes (allergies, diabetes,)
- Keep track of students vaccination records
- Ensure compliance with national and local health laws
- Make updates to students medical history
- Follow school policies and procedures
- Promote an awareness of and assists in the control of communicable diseases
- Serve as a resource person to staff members in health instruction
- Coordinate vision and hearing screenings and health assessments
- Be active in recommending needed updates of policies and formulation of new policies that are in the best interests of school and individual health care.
- Keep students, parents, and the administration adequately informed of all health related issues in the school setting.
- Distribute Emergency Medical Forms and appropriate medications to be taken with students leaving school for field trips.
- Administer all student medications. Maintain regular and accurate records of student visits to the Clinic and medication administered.
Additional Working Conditions/Requirements:
- Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue
- Occasional interaction with unruly students
- Frequent requirement to sit, stand, reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, kneel, climb, and stoop
- Occasional evening work
- Occasional travel, e.g., attending workshop outside of district
- Occasional operation of a vehicle in inclement weather conditions
- Frequent repetitive hand motion, e.g., computer keyboard, writing, filing
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull various items up to a maximum of 25 pounds
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to move through the building without assistance
- Ability to speak and communicate clearly and hear clearly (aided or unaided).
