Nurse's Clinic

The health room, known as the clinic, provides a medical professional for assistance in all non-traumatic needs. The clinic also dispenses all parent-provided, doctor-ordered medication. In addition to our health clinic, we have an isolation clinic for individuals who present communicable symptoms. This is a precautionary measure to help minimize the spread of communicable disease within our school. The clinic has cots with space and clear dividers for social distancing measures and exits that allow symptomatic individuals to leave the building without having further contact with others.

GATE & Sensory Rooms

Lake Center’s unique atmosphere and welcoming student body embraces students with a wide-range of abilities. We offer occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, intervention specialists, instructional specialists, and early intervention programs. We also are a Jon Peterson Scholarship program provider.

Our sensory room is designed to help individuals with sensory issues learn to regulate their brain’s negative reactions to external and internal stimuli by developing coping skills for these experiences. The sensory room helps students achieve a “just right” state for paying attention and learning, allowing those who are overactive to feel calmer and those who are underactive to feel more alert. The room is not limited to students with IEPs. Any student is welcome to use the room with principal and teacher permission, while under supervision.
