Preschool

Parents are a child’s first teachers.
The goal of Lake Center Christian’s preschool program is to work in partnership with parents in nurturing and training their children.

Learn, Play & Make Friends

Our preschool curriculum is based on the Emergent Curriculum (the Project Approach) in which children are active participants in learning rather than passive observers. Play is also an important part of this approach to learning. Classes may cover fine motor, language, social, math, gross motor, literacy and writing skills.

Lake Center Christian offers preschool for children ages 4 – 5.* We’re licensed through the Ohio Department of Education and staffed by a certified teacher and teaching assistant, who both hold four-year bachelor’s degrees in elementary education.

Our schedule follows closely to the school calendar year, with classes beginning after Labor Day and concluding at the end of May. We follow the school calendar for vacation days.

*Student age range: Students must be four years old by August 1 in order to attend preschool that fall. Students may attend through age five until they are ready for kindergarten enrollment.

Enrollment Options

We offer both half-day and full-day enrollment options.

Half-Day Program

The half-day program runs from 8:15 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Parents have the option to select a three-day or four-day schedule. Enrollment is limited to 12 half-day students per day.

Full-Day Program

The full-day program runs from 8:15 a.m. – 2: 30 p.m., and students attend five days a week. Enrollment is limited to 12 full-day students. Full-day preschool gives students time for lunch and a rest period.
