Beltz, Sarah
Tell us a little about yourself.
I have been a teacher for 20 years, in many different grades and places! I have taught grades K–5 as a tech teacher, and grades 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 as well. I have been married for 21 years to my husband, Joe, and we have two boys.
What led you to Lake Center? How did God open the door for you here?
I left the physical classroom during the mess of 2020 and taught online for the past five years. I was getting very lonely being at home, and I missed interacting with kids in person. Mrs. Maarschalk posted some job openings on social media, and I saw them and applied. I was first working as a Team Teacher in Junior High, and I loved the kids there so much that I wanted to follow them to 9th grade and have a classroom once again! There was a time that I thought I was done with being a teacher, but God orchestrated the perfect timing and place for me to return and feel loved and refreshed as a teacher again.
What are you most looking forward to in this role?
I love being around the older kids! I love seeing our growth, and I am so excited to see how the school changes and continues to serve the kids here.
What is your favorite Bible verse?
Probably Psalm 13. It has always reminded me that God never fails us, despite our hardships and circumstances.
What are some of your hobbies and interests?
I love crafting with my Cricut, hanging with the 4th/5th graders at First Christian Canton Kids Ministry, and being with my family. I have five nieces and five nephews whom I adore. Being an aunt is my favorite thing!
Tell us about your family.
My husband, Joe, works at First Christian as the CFO. My oldest, Azzy, is 14 and a freshman at GlenOak High School. My youngest, Roman, is 12 and attends the Golden Key Center for Exceptional Children. We have two dogs, Bailey and Benny, and our class pet, Henri the Bearded Dragon.
Final thoughts.
I’m so thankful to be here and truly believe I was placed here!
