Tell us About Yourself
My family is from Jackson and then I went to college at Mount Union. Before having kids, I taught at Dayton Christian School and worked within a branch of our family company, Patriot Software. I love art, design, and construction — I will swing a hammer or lay flooring any day! Those skills allowed me to start a design side business using talents God gave me to renovate and design for others!
What led you to LCCS? How did God open the door here?
I’ve always loved teaching young people to find God’s great artistic expression in their own lives. And, after our sons transferred to Lake Center, we prayed for ways to help further all that God is doing on campus. It is thrilling to return to the classroom after focusing my time on raising our sons!
What are you most looking forward to in this role?
For eight years, I volunteered to teach art to hundreds of kids who otherwise wouldn’t have had the opportunity — because art is for everyone! So, I am honored to be part of showing the character of God’s goodness and beauty through the artistic gifting of every Junior High student at LCCS!
Do you have a favorite Bible verse or quote?
Please take a moment to look up one of my current favorite passages. Romans 5:1-5 says it all!!
What are some of your hobbies and interests?
Our church is called Frontline, and I’ve traveled with them on missions around the world — from places like Brazil to spending months in Africa sharing the love of Jesus with some of the neediest people on the planet.
Tell us About Your Family
My husband (Mike) and I just celebrated our 20th anniversary. Our three sons are David (17, a senior enrolled in Jackson’s School for the Arts), Daniel (11th grader at LCCS), and Caleb (7th grader at LCCS). We live on Lake Cable and have a little dog named Milo and four cats! Our two girl cats are sisters we rescued from a barn named Cookie and Oreo. The other two are Maine Coon kittens named Bear and Gus (they’re brothers and will get really big)!! Maddy (in the photo) is our oldest son’s girlfriend. She has become a part of our family and is now attending Ohio State this fall.
Is there anything else you would like the LCCS community to know about you?
My husband and I are very involved in our local Christian community. If you ever need someone to pray with you, please just reach out or stop by the art room — we are stronger when we are knit together as a family in Christ!
