Troike, Lena
Tell us a little about yourself.
I grew up in the Chicago area and have taught ELA and Social Studies both in Chicago and Alliance, Ohio. I enjoy middle and high school aged students and love helping them establish their role in society and in God’s Kingdom. In the classroom, I value and enjoy finding fun and engaging ways of integrating writing and reading skills into the Social Studies content area.
What led you to LCCS? How did God open the doors?
God faithfully opened up doors for our son to transfer to LCCS entering last school year. We quickly fell in love with the commitment to a Biblical worldview in everything all while holding a high standard of education. I am incredibly thankful for this next season of being a part of this on both a parent level and being a part of the teaching team.
What are you most looking forward to in this position?
After a few years away from a traditional classroom setting, I am looking forward to diving back into getting to know students and caring for their hearts and minds.
Do you have a favorite Bible verse or quote?
“I would rather be what God chose to make me than the most glorious creature that I could think of; for to have been thought about, born in God’s thought, and then made by God, is the dearest, grandest and most precious thing in all thinking.” — George MacDonald
What are your hobbies and interests?
I enjoy hiking, baking, and reading with my kiddos.
Tell us about your family.
My husband, Dan, and I love to adventure and create together. We have run a guest ranch in the mountains, remodeled a home, done camp ministry, and now live in the country with our incredible two children, our dog, chickens, horses, and cows.
