Lehman, Janelle
Tell us a little about yourself.
I was born and raised in Louisville, Ohio. After graduation, I attended Heidelberg College, where I received my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education. I taught one year at St. Peter’s School in downtown Canton. I was then blessed to be able to return to my alma mater, where I have taught for the last 24 years. During that time, I returned to school at Kent State University, where I earned my Master’s in Education in Curriculum (Reading Specialization) and later my Gifted Certificate.
What led you to LCCS?
God blessed our lives by bringing us to Marlboro Christian Church. One of our church family members told me about the opening at Lake Center. I talked to my husband and talked to God about it. I just felt that it was time for a change, and this is where God was leading me.
What are you most looking forward to in this new role?
I’m looking forward to the challenge of something new, and I’m looking forward to being a resource to the students and my coworkers. I’m here to help in any way I can!
What are your favorite Bible verses?
I have so many! But my favorites are Jeremiah 29:11 and Proverbs 3:5-6. Trusting in His plan will never lead me astray.
Tell us about your family.
In September of 2001, I met my husband, Hal. We married in 2002, so we celebrated 23 years this summer! In 2006, we welcomed our son, Travis, who will be attending Trine University this fall, majoring in Design Engineering. To say we are proud of him is a huge understatement! We have two dogs—Hank, a bloodhound, and Katniss, a beagle mix.
What are your hobbies and interests?
My hubby and I love to travel, camp, listen to country music, and play cards.
Any final thoughts?
I am just so thankful to be given the opportunity to work in this amazing community. The year hasn’t even started, and I already feel so blessed and welcomed.
