Sept. 16, 2022

Good Afternoon!

The following is a brief LCCS Volunteer Program update:

FAMILY ROUND-UP VOLUNTEERING

We could use some extra help with our annual fall, western-themed gathering – the Family Round-Up – which is Tuesday, Sept. 27 from 5-7 PM at the Hartville Marketplace. Volunteers are needed for set up and clean up and can help put up elementary artwork and grill and wrap hot dogs, too (3-5 PM shift). If you are able to lend a hand, please visit the sign up! And don’t forget to let us know you can mosey on over to the Round-Up – RSVP here! If you have met a new school family, please encourage them to come fellowship, too!

SNACK STAMPEDE

We are going to provide the faculty/staff with some snacks Tuesday, Sept. 27 – Family Round-Up/Western Wear Day – in the teachers’ lounges to express our appreciation for all that they do! Desired snack items have been added ( on the Sept. 26 line) to the current volunteer requests sign up. Items may be left at the front desk to my attention. The treats will be placed out the morning of Sept. 27.

WORLD VISION LIAISONS

Lake Center students in 3-6th grades support children through World Vision. We would like to help students write letters to the child their class sponsors soon. If you would like to help with this activity, please let me know at [email protected]. We want to have students work on this project with volunteer support on a Friday in October. More details will be forthcoming.

5th & 6th Grade Play

Plans are in the works to hold a 5th & 6th grade play in early spring! While practices won’t begin until after Christmas, Ms. Kristi Kindler would love volunteers assisting with costumes, props, backdrops, and practices. If this is up your alley, let me know, [email protected], so I can keep you informed as the planning moves forward.

CHILD ABUSE TRAINING

Since volunteers at Lake Center often work with children, we are asking you to review an online training session on identifying and reporting suspected neglect/abuse. The training can be accessed here: 2023 Child Abuse/Neglect Training(instructure.com). We appreciate you taking the time to review this video to help protect our students. Thank you to those who took the time to complete this last week.

We appreciate your support!
