HARTVILLE – Plans are underway for Lake Center Christian School’s (LCCS) 36th annual Auction, with the live dinner event to take place Saturday, April 30 from 4-7:30 p.m. in the LCCS Gymnasium.

Lake Center’s Auction is a tradition among school parents, grandparents, alumni, and community supporters, and one of the Pre-K-12th grade school’s largest fundraisers, said LCCS Advancement Director Dawn Campanelli.

During the Auction, which is open to the general public, more than 100 items, including experience packages, Amish-crafted furniture, lawn equipment, and large, themed-gift baskets, will go up for bid.

Funds raised at the LCCS Auction, which includes an online bidding component, support the school’s operating budget and endowment to provide classroom resources to advance academic excellence and help every student develop Christian character, Campanelli said.

“For 2022, the goal is to raise $75,000 in celebration of Lake Center’s 75th Anniversary of glorifying God through a community of excellence,” she said.

Stacey Baker, an active member of the Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) at LCCS, recently was named Auction Coordinator, after serving as a key volunteer for the event the past several years.

“Stacey is a servant leader. She is very passionate about the mission of Lake Center, and we are grateful she joined the LCCS Advancement Team to use her creative talents and organizational skills to grow the fellowship and fundraising opportunities of the school’s annual Auction,” said LCCS Advancement Director Dawn Campanelli.

Baker said she is excited to step into the position and see how God uses the Auction for His glory.

“I love Lake Center,” she said. “My heart is to serve in the community in which our kids are growing.”

The Auction Coordinator is the wife of Aaron Baker, LCCS’s Junior High Soccer Coach and 8th Grade Boys’ Basketball Coach, and the mother of six boys. Her four school-aged sons attend LCCS.

A couple of years ago, she began “Partnering in Prayer,” a group gathering monthly inside LCCS to collectively lift the school up in prayer and praise God for his goodness.

Baker is encouraging the LCCS community to be a part of this year’s Auction, which will center around the school’s 75th anniversary and one of its core values, service to Christ.

“Getting involved with the Auction is a tangible way to serve alongside each other and build relationships,” she said. “The Auction is a great opportunity and will open the door for future involvement at the school.”

Personal involvement in the 36th annual Auction can include becoming an event sponsor, donating an item, purchasing tickets for the live dinner event, and/or registering to be a bidder.

Those interested in learning how they can support the Auction are invited to contact Baker by text at (330) 618-7363 or at [email protected]
