Lake Center Christian School Students To Perform With Akron Symphony

The Akron Symphony Orchestra will partner with 52 area schools and more than 3,500 students for the “Link-Up” Concert “The Orchestra Swings”.  The “Link Up” concert is created by Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute, which pairs professional orchestras with students to explore orchestra repertoire through hands-on music performances.  The collaboration will culminate with two performances at the Word Church on March 19th.  Lake Center Christian School will be attending the 11:15 AM performance with the 4th graders (playing recorders) and the Junior Strings (grades 2-4) and 5/6 Intermediate Strings.

LCCS Junior Strings Class

The concerts will provide students with the opportunity to sing, play the recorder or string instrument along with the Akron Symphony. They will also learn about the composers they are playing, music vocabulary, and hear a special performance by members of the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra.
