Lake Center has an opening for two (2) part-time cafeteria workers

Duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager may include:
  • monitoring students during lunch periods to assure safety and adherence to cafeteria rules
  • assistance with food preparation
  • dishwashing
  • food service preparation, including table setup, tray prep, silverware, condiments, etc
  • emptying garbage
  • assisting in maintaining a clean work environment

Lake Center Christian School is seeking a Secondary Assistant Principal for the 2024-2025 school year.

Steward of School Culture:

  1. Provide Spiritual leadership for the Secondary School in cooperation with the Campus Pastor and Secondary Principal.
  2. Supervise students on campus and monitor students during arrival and departure, lunch, passing periods, and other activities; instruct students on inappropriate behavior; discipline students in accordance with established guidelines.
  3. Administer all student-centered programs in accordance with the Secondary Principal.
  4. Coordinate all student activities through the Secondary Principal’s office and place them on the master calendar.
  5. Oversee the implementation of Secondary Class Trips
  6. Plan and lead faculty meetings with the Secondary Principal.
  7. Consult with the Director of Special Needs frequently regarding students with special needs and Instructional Specialists and schedules.
  8. Supervise leaders of all extra-curricular activities.
  9. Oversee all secondary academic competitions.
  10. Oversee the planning and implementation of student and class activities, including assignment of class sponsors, class activities, formal dances, and pep rallies.
  11. Monitors and organizes attendance functions including approval of planned absence forms; prepares letters, calls parents, and attends meetings as needed, regarding absent or tardy students; provides leadership for attendance improvement efforts.
  12. Develops and administers disciplinary procedures in accordance with organizational policies, and applicable laws ensuring that faculty are supported, a healthy learning environment is preserved, and students are discipled, not just punished.
  13. Oversees behavioral interventions, including family meetings, mediations, suspensions, and expulsion hearings with the Secondary Principal.
  14. Maintain visibility in the school through attendance and supervision of planned programs/events.
  15. Facilitate faculty and staff development related to school culture and consistent enforcement of student discipline.

Site Administration Support:

  1. Participates as needed in Individual Educational Plan meetings.
  2. Evaluate programs and personnel and recommend appropriate changes as related to student activities.
  3. Supports the maintenance of site cleanliness and inspirational and motivational slogans, posters, quotes, and Student Council posters throughout the school and classroom.
  4. Supervise the consistent and fair administration of school policies regarding student conduct and discipline.
  5. Assist in developing the LCCS budget; oversee expenditures directly related to the secondary program.
  6. Participate in long-range planning with the Secondary Principal.
  7. Review student progress regularly.
  8. Perform all other duties assigned by the Secondary Principal.

Stakeholder and Community Relations:

  1. Communicate with parents regarding the school program and events.
  2. Serves as liaison to parents and facilitates parent education and involvement, including reinforcing the need for parents to support the school’s policies and practices for student discipline, dress code, homework, and events in collaboration with the Guidance Department.
  3. Models and facilitates good human relations skills; effectively interact with others.
  4. Maintains communication with the Secondary Principal and Administrative Team in order to keep them informed of school activities and problems such as transportation, special services, discipline, etc.
  5. Keeps the community informed about school activities through newsletters, news releases, and attendance at parent meetings in collaboration with the Advancement Department.

REPORTS TO:  Superintendent, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Interim COO and Finance Committee

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Planning and Strategy

  • Lead the coordination and formulation of comprehensive current and long-range financial plans in alignment with the school’s objectives.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies, ensuring they adhere to regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure financial performance against set plans and advise the Superintendent/COO and Finance Committee on variances.

Financial Oversight and Reporting

  • Direct all facets of general accounting functions, chart of account and reporting structure, maintaining accuracy and compliance.
  • Formulate and administer accounting policies, ensuring their alignment with organizational goals.
  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports, including chart of accounts used, providing insights for informed decision-making to the Superintendent / COO and Finance Committee.
  • Collaborate closely with the Board of Trustees, offering financial guidance and support in fulfilling fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Work directly with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit/review process.

Operational Management

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepare and oversee budgets (operational (GF), capital projects, auxiliary).  Present budgets to finance committee and board for approval.
  • Implement robust internal controls for financial transactions, safeguarding assets and resources.
  • Create and implement approval process for: purchase orders, and invoices for payment.
  • Manage / oversee payroll processing.
  • Manage / oversee government/state funds.
  • Manage / oversee accounts receivable and past due accounts.
  • Oversee compliance-related reporting requirements.
  • Develop and keep up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures / Manual documenting the duties of the Business Office.

Investment and Resource Management

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of Endowment and Capital Replacement investments, preparing comprehensive reports for review.
  • Involved in oversight of employee benefits programs and workers’ compensation, ensuring comprehensive coverage and compliance.

Strategic Initiatives

  • Proactively seek opportunities to optimize cash flow, identify potential cost-saving measures, and explore avenues for revenue generation.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to drive financial sustainability and growth initiatives.
  • Develop Strategic Multi-Year Budget for Board and Finance Committee planning purposes

Performance Expectations
Spiritual Leadership and Administration:

  1. Provide Spiritual leadership for the Elementary school in cooperation with the Campus Pastor.
  2. Administer all programs in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Event Coordination and Communication:

  1. Coordinate all events through the Superintendent’s office and schedule on the master calendar.
  2. Meet with committees as assigned by the Superintendent.
  3. Coordinate all class rosters, schedules, duty rosters, committee assignments, and other related activities.

Curriculum and Academic Oversight:

  1. Oversee the Response to Intervention (RtI) process.
  2. Help facilitate review of curriculum and assure alignment with state and ACSI standards.
  3. Work with Gifted Coordinator regarding programs and student services.
  4. Review teacher unit plans and lesson plans periodically and review quarterly report cards.
  5. Work with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction to schedule/administer standardized tests.
  6. Evaluate prospective students academically and behaviorally; recommend class and course placement.
  7. Oversee entrance testing, including Kindergarten Preview and Screening tests.
  8. Consult with the Director of Special Services frequently regarding students and their services.

Supervision and Evaluation:

  1. Supervise and coordinate duties with elementary assistant principal.
  2. Supervise and evaluate and provide feedback to all elementary teachers.
  3. Supervise, evaluate, and provide feedback to elementary staff.
  4. Supervise inventorying of books and end-of-year check out.
  5. Supervise leaders and schedules of all extra-curricular activities and clubs.

Human Resources and Personnel Management:

  1. Assist Superintendent with interviewing candidates and hiring elementary teachers.
  2. Approve/disapprove teacher requests for absence.
  3. Evaluate programs and personnel and recommend appropriate changes.
  4. Interview families as part of the admissions process.
  5. Establish procedures and hire personnel for the afterschool program.

Financial Oversight and Reporting:

  1. Assist in developing the LCCS budget
  2. Oversee expenditures related to the elementary.
  3. Provide a report for monthly Board meetings, and additional Board meetings upon request.

Job Details:

  • Transport children and other passengers to and from field trip and athletic destinations
  • Obey all traffic laws
  • Maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus at all times
  • Ensure the safety of all students
  • Assist students with getting on and off the bus as needed
  • Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route
  • Attend safety meetings as required
